Is water replaceable?

Announcing WILFE

WILFE (pronounced Will-Fie) stands for Water Is Life For Everyone.

This new programme provides a common ground for our two working groups; Island Connections and Mountain Pass. The two groups will remain autonomous but may share similar operational frameworks and converge towards common goals.

WILFE will use the nature of water and its diverse environments as a point of departure for personal and professional development.

As its developmental framework the programme is envisaged to follow a tripartite educational and functional structure:

-1. Outdoor Education,

-2. Environmental Education,

-3. Experiential Education/Discovery Learning.

Water dominated environments that have so far been identified for the WILFE programme include:

i. Fjords

ii. Glaciers & Icecaps

iii. Coastal zones & Islets

iv. Waterfalls, Lakes & Rivers

Target participants:

A. 13-16 yr. olds (Secondary school pupils)

B. 16-18 yr. olds (Post-secondary school students)

C. 18-22 yr olds (Tertiary education students)

D. Adults (Including teachers, educators, youth leaders and trainers)

WILFE is designed to serve as an umbrella programme from which a multitude of ramifications and sub-projects are excepted to emerge. The duration of each project may vary from 2 to 12 months and must have a minimum of 8 active individual participants. Although candidates wishing to take part in a WILFE affiliated project may do so in their own personal capacity, however, group requests are also encouraged.
